Project Support & Technical Specialist

Job Summary

The Project Support & Technical Specialist is responsible for supporting the delivery of BMS and control systems projects through coordination of documentation, materials, and technical activities. This includes assisting with project preparation, FAT, testing, troubleshooting, breakdowns and communication with internal teams and external stakeholders. 

The role requires strong organizational and technical support skills to ensure efficient project execution, accurate documentation, and smooth project close-out. 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Preparation & Coordination  

  • Oversee the preparation phase of each BMS project.
  • Coordinate with the Drawing Office to deliver complete and accurate site drawings according to deadline provided by Project Manager.
  • Production and double checking of BMS connection schedules
  • Schematics and device layouts
  • Installation expertise (e.g. sensor distances, valve orientation)
  • Cable types and routing guidance
  • Manage material purchases, requisitions and releases.
  • Coordinate with M&E teams during installation.

MCC Design & Supply 

  • Supervise the design and FAT testing of control panels.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm specifications and delivery schedules.

Project Closing 

  • Support pre-commissioning and functional testing activities.
  • Ensure all control points are validated and signed off. 
  • Review and issue as-built documentation and QA checklists
  • Standardise equipment labelling and documentation structure
  • Coordinate with M&E teams during commissioning.

Troubleshooting & Breakdown 

  • Respond to breakdowns, system faults, and callouts.
  • Provide hands-on configuration or repair when required.

Controls & Automation (Non-BMS) 

  • Lead small automation projects or independent control systems.
  • Act as the client’s main technical contact.
  • Support project tracking and quotations.

Client and Commercial Support 

  • Prepare and manage quotations for:
    • Project support
    • MCC design and supply
    • Controls and Automation jobs
  • Maintain close communication with clients and suppliers.
  • Attend relevant courses or fairs to support innovation and standards.

Quality, Health & Safety, and Compliance 

  • Carry out all duties in accordance with company safety procedures and regulatory requirements, ensuring that personal work practices and 
  • Show how much responsibility the person has (e.g., leading a team, working independently, supporting others) and State who they will work with (team members, managers, clients, other departments)
  • Promote and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards across all projects.
  • Enforce a zero-tolerance policy for any abusive, harassing, or discriminatory behavior in the workplace. Incidents or concerns must be escalated promptly to maintaina respectful, professional, and inclusive environment for every team member. 
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety rules, use personal protective equipment as required, and report any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.

Working Conditions:

  • The Project Support & Technical Specialist will be based at Head Office and will also carry out duties on project sites, ensuring compliance with standard employment conditions and site safety protocols. Working hours are between 07:30 till 16:00.

Reporting Structure / Accountability 

  • The Project Support & Technical Specialist will report directly to the Head of Automations and Controls Department or to a designated person in their absence. 

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Electrical Technical Qualification (Engineering or relevant experience)
  • Minimum 6-7years of experience in BMS, control systems, or industrial automation. 
  • Electrical Domestic Installation (License A)
  • Strong understanding of BMS architecture, field devices, and wiring principles.
  • Capable of producing and interpreting schematics and connection schedules.
  • Experience with panel assembly processes. 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.  
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work. 
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn. 
  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.  
  • Ability to work independently and follow instruction
