Job Overview
The Group Credit Controller is primarily responsible for managing outstanding Panta Group debts owing from existing clients and ensuring effective collections to maintain a healthy Group cash flow. This involves coordinating debt recovery efforts, reconciling overdue accounts, and implementing payment plans when necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties
- To collect balances due from the Group’s credit clients, achieving monthly DSO targets and objectives of credit management;
- Post all payment receipts into the respective companies’ Sales Ledgers and allocate payment remittances with invoices;
- Prepare monthly debtor statements and send by email to clients;
- Reconcile account balances with clients’ statements when invoices are disputed and follow up with business to issue any credit notes where necessary;
- Liaise with HODs and Operational Managers to facilitate with slow debts (including public authorities), where necessary;
- Issue reminder letters to slow-paying clients and where this fails to produce results, escalate to the Chief Financial Officer for further action;
- Maintain good client relations through regular communication and visits to clients’ establishments, where necessary;
- Review and validate requests for credit facilities by new or existing clients, approving those that are deemed appropriate;
- Process any required set-offs between Group debtor and supplier balances, following CFO approval;
- Liaise and follow up with lawyer on legal debts on a periodical basis.
Qualifications
- Highly organised and able to reach targets.
- Work planning and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and an eye for detail.
- A positive can-do attitude and being able to work as part of the broader team.
- Ability to take initiative and act on what is required.
- Knowledge of MS Office software.
- Knowledge of Shireburn SFM would be considered to be an asset.
