Purpose of Job
As Panta continues to expand its operations and enhance its reputation as a leader in HVAC and AEP solutions, the role of Assistant Technical has become essential to support this growth. The primary purpose of the role is to assist in the supervision and development of junior technicians, ensuring a high standard of technical service across all systems including HVAC, water treatment, and renewable energy installations. This role supports the Technical Manager in coordinating day-to-day maintenance activities, troubleshooting system faults, and upholding operational efficiency. Additionally, this role plays a key part in fostering team development, maintaining the company’s high-quality standards, and reinforcing our commitment to customer satisfaction. As Panta scales its operations, this position will be vital in driving technical excellence and supporting strategic departmental growth.
Main Duties
- Assist in diagnosing faults in VRF and Split type air conditioning systems, and help train junior technicians
- Provide support in diagnosing and troubleshooting Water Treatment and Reverse Osmosis systems
- Aid in the maintenance and diagnostics of Underfloor heating, Solar water heaters, and photovoltaic systems
- Liaise with suppliers under the guidance of the Technical Manager for faults, product inquiries, and updates
- Assist in warranty and claims processes in coordination with administrators and suppliers
- Support the sourcing of new suppliers and assist in product research
- Help plan and monitor stock levels in collaboration with the customer care department
- Assist in repair and replacement of system components as required
- Attend training courses provided by suppliers to enhance technical knowledge
- Provide on-site technical support to clients, ensuring safe and timely execution of work
- Collaborate closely with the customer care department for scheduling and coordination
- Support the preparation of quotations and job assessments for client work
Job Requirements:
- Technical background in HVAC systems (VRF, split-type units), water treatment, reverse osmosis, and renewable energy systems (solar water heaters, underfloor heating, photovoltaic panels)
- Hands-on experience in a technical or supervisory HVAC/AEP role
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across multiple systems and platforms
- Experience in mentoring or supporting junior technicians in a team environment
- Good understanding of health and safety standards and compliance in technical operations
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, especially when liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal departments
- Ability to work collaboratively with customer care, administration, and supply chain teams
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Maltese is an asset
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel between sites as needed
- Willingness to attend supplier training courses and upskill as technologies evolve
