Job Summary
The Accounts Executive is responsible for managing accounts payable, bank and customer transactions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting the organisation’s financial operations. This role ensures accurate financial records, compliance with company policies and accounting standards, and effective collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, customers, auditors, and financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Record and post financial transactions, including supplier invoices, payments, expenses, journal entries, refunds and set-offs (where applicable).
- Posting expenditures in the system and ensuring creditors ‘balances are all reconciled with suppliers ‘statements appropriately.
- Verify that invoices are accurate prior to posting and that all supporting purchasing and receiving documentation is complete.
- Schedule, prepare and process supplier payment runs in accordance with company credit terms.
- Allocate supplier payments accurately and promptly to the relevant supplier accounts.
- Manage the accounts payable inbox daily, ensuring queries are actioned or escalated in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate filing of accounts payable documentation and related records.
- Assume responsibility for effectively researching, tracking and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
Financial Reporting & Month-End
- Assist with end-of-month closing procedures.
- Prepare monthly aged payables reports and other ad-hoc financial reports as required.
- Prepare financial reports and reconcile jobs in WIP).
- Reconcile financial records, including bank and cash reconciliations
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
Audit, Compliance & Collaboration
- Collaborate with auditors and provide all required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations, company policies and legal requirements.
- Promote compliance with ISO 9001(Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards across all projects.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and stakeholders to resolve financial discrepancies, improve processes and propose solutions.
- Conduct annual audits and monthly stock checks.
- Undertake ad-hoc reporting and additional duties as requested by the Financial Controller.

- Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment where required, and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Previous experience in an Accounts Executive, Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (including SFM if applicable) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls.
Working Conditions
Based at Head Office and expected to work in accordance with company policies, employment conditions and site safety protocols.
