Storekeeper

Job Summary

The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, control, organization, and issuance of materials across the Group’s operational divisions. Reporting directly to the Store Supervisor or Assistant Store Supervisor, the Storekeeper plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting operational continuity, and ensuring the stores operate in a safe, organized, and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced technical environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & Store Operations

  • Receive, inspect, verify, and store incoming materials, tools, equipment, and supplies according to company procedures.
  • Ensure all received items match delivery notes, purchase orders, and system records.
  • Organize stock efficiently to ensure easy identification, accessibility, and safe storage.
  • Maintain proper labelling, shelving, and categorization of materials within the stores.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the Store Supervisor.
  • Assist in stock replenishment activities and coordinate with the Procurement Department when required.

Inventory Control & Systems

  • Record all inventory transactions accurately using the appropriate systems.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory reports, stock movement records, and related documentation.
  • Ensure proper issue and return of materials to departments, technicians, and project sites.
  • Conduct regular stock counts to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Investigate and report inventory variances or discrepancies.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate effectively with other departments.
  • Respond to internal material requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate stock availability, shortages, and urgent requirements to the relevant stakeholders.

Housekeeping, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain cleanliness, order, and proper housekeeping standards within all store areas.
  • Ensure materials are handled and stored safely in accordance with company policies and HSE requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by following safety procedures and reporting hazards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within store operations.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Previous experience in storekeeping, warehouse, or inventory control role is preferred.
  • Experience in construction, MEP, HVAC, engineering, or technical industries will be considered an asset.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management procedures and warehouse operations.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, preferably Shireburn SIMS.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
