Job Responsibilities:
As a Junior Projects Manager, you will act as a project owner, responsible for planning and managing labour, materials, budgets, deadlines, and client relations. Your duties will include:
- Liaising with the design office regarding scheduling of drawings, orders, and labour hours
- Controlling project budgets
- Monitoring and controlling programmes of works
- Planning and delegating tasks in line with client-agreed programmes
- Coordinating delivery of material, tools, and plant in accordance with schedules
- Maintaining regular liaison with clients and attending internal and external progress meetings
- Preparing progress and management reports for review
- Managing and motivating the project team
- Monitoring and controlling project works, including variations and additional works requested by consultants or clients
Initial Site Coordination Period
To ensure you build a strong understanding of project operations, you will first be exposed to site coordination responsibilities for the initial months of your role. This will allow you to gain valuable insight into day-to-day site management and operational requirements. During this period, you may assist senior site and project teams with:
- Daily planning and scheduling support
- Tracking material deliveries and liaising with suppliers
- Monitoring site attendance and reporting issues
- Supporting health, safety, and environmental compliance during site inspections
- Documenting site progress through logs, photos, and reports
- Assisting with RFIs, variation requests, and other project documentation
- Promote and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards across all projects.
- Enforce a zero-tolerance policy for any abusive, harassing, or discriminatory behavior in the workplace. Incidents or concerns must be escalated promptly to maintain a respectful, professional, and inclusive environment for every team member.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Comply with all workplace health and safety rules, use personal protective equipment as required, and report any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately
Working Conditions
- The employee will be based at the Head Office and will also carry out duties on project sites, ensuring compliance with standard employment conditions and site safety protocols
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- 1–3 years’ experience in MEP, construction, engineering, or project coordination.
- Previous experience assisting with the planning and coordination of projects.
- Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
- Experience monitoring project timelines, materials and progress.
- Previous site experience within an MEP or construction environment is an advantage.
- Good project coordination and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with different teams and stakeholders.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, plans and technical documentation.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A valid driving license is an advantage, particularly where site visits are required.
