Technical Sales Representative

The Technical Sales Representative reports to the COO, having key relationships with suppliers, customers, inter-group staff, and various key stakeholders.

Purpose of Job

  • Overall responsibility of the technical and strategic retail division – Industry Retail Solutions
  • Manage and coordinate all department functions and maintain a high company profile and image at all times
  • To coordinate and ensure that sales activities are concluded as per agreed contracts and according to company procedures
  • To ensure that departmental staff are actively involved, informed, and trained with the latest information and technical product developments
  • Develop new product lines and supplier relationships
  • To support and ensure that product lines are marketed and distributed effectively
  • Other duties that may arise from time to time

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Good understanding of company products and associated equipment
  • Request quotations from suppliers’ and relevant shipping costs
  • Preparation and submission of quotations / tenders / orders
  • Issue invoices upon delivery
  • Prepare and submit all the relevant technical information to accompany quotes / offers
  • Follow up client requests and resolve any arising issues
  • Keep clients informed of new / updated products
  • Drawing up annual budgets, forecasts, and contributing to the overall business plan
  • Reporting to management – monthly reports on quotations submitted and sales effected
  • Liaise with the company’s different divisions regarding any requirements to source / order products
  • Keeping a good rapport with the various companies and supplier represented
  • To develop and provide KPIs, statistics, and any objectives that help with monitoring the business unit’s performance
  • To ensure that company activities are marketable and profitable
  • Follow-up on client complaints and issues that may arise from time to timeRequirements

     

    • Ideally with an HNC in mechanical engineering or a technical background
    • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales and marketing
    • Strong communication skills / knowledge of sales activities
    • Presentable and with an eye to detail
    • Ambitious to grow technically and commercially into a managerial role
